We repair and replace bathroom fixtures on existing plumbing in Edmonton: toilets and flappers, fill valves, faucets, shower heads, sinks and tub or shower caulking, plus minor drain and fixture fixes. New lines, moved drains and permit work go to a licensed plumber.
Toilets
A toilet that runs, refills on its own every so often, or needs the handle jiggled almost always has a worn flapper or fill valve. Both are inexpensive parts, and replacing them takes well under an hour. We also handle loose toilets that rock on the floor (a wax ring or flange issue), weak flushes, and full toilet replacements where the new toilet goes on the existing flange and supply.
A quick check you can do yourself: put a few drops of food colouring in the tank and don’t flush for 20 minutes. If colour shows up in the bowl, the flapper is leaking.
Faucets and shower heads
- Replacing bathroom faucets (single-hole, centreset and widespread)
- Fixing drips by replacing cartridges or washers on brands like Moen, Delta and American Standard
- Swapping supply lines and shut-off valves that are seized or weeping
- New shower heads, handheld showers and slide bars
- Tub spouts and diverters that don’t fully switch to the shower
Edmonton’s water is moderately hard, so mineral build-up is common in aerators and shower heads. Sometimes a cleaning brings back the pressure. Sometimes the cartridge is just worn out. We’ll tell you which.
Sinks, vanities and caulking
We replace bathroom sinks and drop-in basins, reconnect drains and P-traps, and re-caulk around tubs, shower bases and vanity tops. Re-caulking a tub or shower is one of the best small investments in a bathroom. Once the old caulk cracks, water gets behind the surround, and that’s how you end up with soft drywall and mould you can’t see.
Minor drain and fixture repairs
Slow sinks, pop-up stoppers that don’t pop up, leaking P-traps and loose drain connections are all on the list. For main line blockages, sewer backups or anything that needs a camera, call a drain company; that’s specialist equipment.
Where we draw the line
We work on fixtures connected to your existing plumbing. Running new supply lines, moving a drain, adding a bathroom, or anything that needs a plumbing permit from the City of Edmonton is work for a licensed plumber. If we see something on a visit that needs one, we’ll say so straight away.
